This is a courtesy advisory about your disabled parking spaces.
___ We are happy to report that your parking spaces meet or exceed the ICC/ANSI
A117.1 2004 Specifications (see over). Thanks for your consideration of
your disabled customers.
___ There are one or more deficiencies in your parking spots that could
be corrected at your convenience to better serve your disabled customers.
___ There are one or more deficiencies in your parking spots that require
correction as soon as possible because they limit the ability of disabled
customers to patronize your business.
___ There are severe deficiencies in your parking spots that require immediate
correction to avoid a US Department of Justice complaint or local building
code enforcement.
Detailed Evaluation Items
Issues with all disabled Parking spots - Van Accessible
and not Van Accessible:
A. Incorrect Signage or no signage (Not enforceable).
B. Curb Ramp in Access aisle
C. No Curb Ramp
D. Slope of Parking Spot
Parking spot and access aisle steeper than 1:48 slope (2003 codes) or 1:50
(older codes). The parking spot and access aisle must be uniform slope in
its entirety, the access aisle cannot be an a different slope than the parking
spot.
Issues with Van Accessible Disabled Parking Spots:
A. Access Parking spot not 8 ft. wide (9 ft. Oregon Revised Statures)
B. Access Aisle not 8 ft. wide
C. Back in parking required to use parking spot.
1. Obstructions at rear of van - vegetation, curbs, signs, etc.
2. Sign blocks back door of van.
D. Van Accessible parking spot closest to entrance on accessible route.
E. Incorrect Number of Van Accessible parking spots. One in every 8 spots
(old code) or One in every 6 spots (2003 Code).
Issues with Non-Van Accessible Disabled Parking Spots:
A. Parking Spot not 8 ft. wide
B. Access aisle not 5 ft. wide. (6 ft. Oregon Revised Statures)
